(First image)So today at my school someone decided to put up these flyers.Not only was I mad by the subtle misogynistic nature behind it,but the overall tone this person was writing in. Keep in mind that these flyers were posted EVERYWHERE and were not even taken a second look at.
(Second image)I have seen these written words on tumblr before, and all credit goes to the person who wrote them,but I had to use the same message to take a stand. My friend and I printed out 20 of these and put them up as a kind of silent protest.
Sixth hour came around and I was called down to the principals office.I was told that I was being “irrational” “slightly radical” and that I was offending the administration,therefore me leading to being suspended. I was told by my principal that “Male teachers feel ashamed enough having to tell girls to cover up” and that “this message takes in multiple layers of expressing the wrong message.” I told the principal about the first image and that none of it was taken into consideration, and no action was brought up about it,but somehow my opinion was overshadowing the above message and I was going “above and beyond what isn’t appropriate in a high school setting.”
I dont know where to start off by expressing my anger,I guess this post could be a start. How about instead of suspending me, this issue is brought up to administrations of schools and something is done about it. I’m so fucking sick of ignorance i’m going to vomit.
